This policy explains how Consult-Meds Ltd ("Your Online Pharmacy", "we", "us"), trading as Your Online Pharmacy, handles your personal information when you use our website or our pharmacy services. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data in line with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Who is responsible for your data
Consult-Meds Ltd is the data controller. Registered office: Unit 51, Flexspace Bolton, Manchester Road, Bolton, Lancashire, BL3 2NZ (company no. 16525025). Our registration with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) reference will be added here. You can contact us about privacy at info@youronlinepharmacy.uk or on 01204 962333.
The information we collect
- Contact and enquiry details — your name, email, phone number and the content of any message you send us.
- Nomination and pharmacy details — date of birth, NHS number (if provided), address, GP surgery, your signature and information needed to provide your NHS pharmacy care.
- Health information — details relevant to a service you ask us to provide (for example a Pharmacy First or contraception consultation). This is "special category" data and is treated with extra care.
Why we use it and our lawful basis
We use your information to respond to your enquiries, set up your pharmacy nomination, provide NHS pharmacy services, and meet our professional and legal obligations. Our lawful bases under UK GDPR are:
- Provision of health care (Article 9(2)(h)) — for providing pharmacy services and managing your care.
- Legal obligation — where we must keep records to meet NHS, pharmacy and medicines legislation.
- Consent — for optional marketing communications, which you can withdraw at any time.
Who we share it with
We only share your information where necessary to provide your care or meet a legal duty — for example with the NHS, your GP practice, NHS England, or a regulator such as the General Pharmaceutical Council. We do not sell your data or share it for third-party marketing.
How long we keep it
We keep pharmacy and NHS records for the periods set out in the NHS Records Management Code of Practice. Website enquiries that don’t become part of your care record are kept only as long as needed to deal with your query.
How we protect it
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to keep your information secure. Our website is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Please note that, while we are establishing our services, form submissions are currently received in a secure business mailbox; we are moving to NHSmail for clinical correspondence as we begin trading.
Your rights
You have the right to access your information, to have inaccurate data corrected, and (in some circumstances) to have data erased or its use restricted. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details above.
Complaints
If you have a concern about how we handle your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
